On the morning of May 29, the 6th"24H Comic Marathon" of The 7th Edition of Fete des Bulles (Changchun) kicked off at Jilin Animation Institute（JAI）. Teachers and students from 8 international and domestic colleges and universities gathered together to participate in this high-standard, international and professional international comic event. Mme Charlène Mwepu-Bros, attachée de coopération au sein du Consulat général de France à Shenyang delivered a speech. Li Jianhua, Deputy Director of Jilin Foreign Affairs Office, Zheng Liguo, Chairman and President of JAI, attended the opening ceremony. Yue Wu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Supervisor of JAI delivered a welcome speech. Liu Zhenhua, Executive Vice President of JAI hosted the event.

This event is hosted by Consulate General of France in Shenyang, Animation, Comics and Games Committee of China Cultural Chamber of Commerce for the Private Sector,  Animation, Comic and Game Association of Jilin Province and  Jilin Animation Institute. It is organized by School of Comics of Jilin Animation Institute, IP Business Group and “Himaker” Business Group of JAI Cultural Arts Group and co-organized by Northeast Normal University and Jilin University of The Arts. The competition takes "cartoonist + alumni" as the link, revolves around the theme of "Science and Technology Metaverse - Comics Create The Future", aims to unite international and domestic well-known universities to create comic new stars, and excavates industrializable comic IP, so as to form a normal activity of communication between international and domestic colleges and universities.

The Fete des Bulles has been held in China since 2016 and has been successfully held for seven times so far. With the continuous development of the activities, Sino-French culture and art have been deeply exchanged, and the ideas of cartoonists of the two countries have collided with each other. The Fete des Bulles, an international exchange platform, has become an important link for Sino-French cultural exchanges and co-construction.

In her speech, Mme Charlène Mwepu-Bros pointed out that the event provided an excellent platform for Chinese and French cartoonists to meet their friends through painting. JAI, as a long-term partner of Croisements Festival, continues to give high-quality support to the event. At a time when the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France is approaching, France will focus on "people-to-people exchanges" and hopes that through this event, cartoonists of the two countries will be encouraged to create more excellent cartoons. At the same time, she wishes the event a complete success.

Yue Wu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Supervisor of JAI delivered a speech

Yue Wu said in his speech that this event has a very special significance. It is not only a practical action to strengthen cultural exchanges between China and France, but also an important manifestation of actively promoting the "the culture of JAI". It is hoped that through this event, we can establish a long-term, stable and friendly interaction mode with domestic and foreign institutions, insist on inheritance and innovation, build a visual dialogue, and provide inexhaustible inspiration and strength for comic creation. JAI will also provide a platform for cartoonists to communicate openly in the most sincere way. It is hoped that the participating experts, scholars, teachers and students will take this academic exchange meeting as an opportunity to learn more about academics, broaden their horizons, work hard, and forge ahead. Through continuous communication and exchanges, they will accumulate resources, learn from each other's strengths, and develop together.

French illustrator Emilie Seto, XuTao, Chairman of the China Committee of International Comic Artist Conference, Huang Jing, CEO of China Philo Animation Studio and cartoonist，An Lin, cartoonist and Ma Yubo, Vice-general manager of Changchun Sammie Comic Design Co.LTD respectively share and have an in-depth discussion with teachers and students about the road of growth of illustrators, challenges and opportunities faced by comic culture in the post-epidemic era, policy innovation of comic industry, integration and development of culture and science and technology, research and development of key technologies of comics, original work content innovation and boutique creation. We will jointly plan the development vision of the cultural industry and forge a brilliant future for the cultural industry.
