School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Jilin Animation Institute adheres to the four core culture of "Innovation, Creativity, Excellence and Entrepreneurship" and takes the construction of a national innovation and entrepreneurship college as the strategic goal. It aims to cultivate high-quality application-oriented talents with “Strong employment competition, innovation and entrepreneurship, and potential for career development” in the cultural industry. In 2015, Jilin Animation Institute established an innovation and entrepreneurship center. In 2016 , The innovation and entrepreneurship center changes the name as innovation and entrepreneurship incubation platform to comprehensively promote the innovation and entrepreneurship work. With the continuous improvement of the innovation and entrepreneurship system, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship was established in 2021. It is approved as The National Innovation and Entrepreneurship School Construction Unit in August 2022.

Jilin Animation Institute has comprehensively built a full chain innovation and entrepreneurship education system with "innovation and entrepreneurship education as the main line, school enterprise linkage and coordination as the guarantee, and internal and external double circulation as the driving force", and formed a curriculum system of "creative thinking and entrepreneurship basic courses for junior students, and innovation and entrepreneurship core courses and innovation and entrepreneurship project practice for senior students". Jilin Animation Institute will establish a team of innovation and entrepreneurship teachers with "industry double qualified teachers, entrepreneurship tutors inside and outside the Institute, and backbone teachers inside the Institute" as the main body, build five practical creation platforms covering ACG(animation, comic and game), film and television, design, virtual reality and artificial，film and television, design, virtual reality and artificial intelligence, cultural and business management and marketing, lay out an innovation and entrepreneurship project incubation system of "full-scale guidance, competition selection, resource support and comprehensive guarantee", establish a comprehensive and three-dimensional work system for innovation and entrepreneurship and make the cultivation of innovation and entrepreneurship concept and the improvement of ability run through the whole process of talent training, so that students can have a comprehensive understanding of the market development and industry trend, have a deep understanding of the IP value of the cultural industry during the school period, and from the perspective of innovation and entrepreneurship talent training, improve students’ market competitiveness in the whole life cycle and comprehensive quality level, cultivate high-quality application-oriented talents in the cultural industry who is fully integrated with art and technology, and fully connected with specialty and entrepreneurship.

In recent years, Jilin Animation Institute (JAI) has won more than 20 honorary titles related to innovation and entrepreneurship at the national, provincial and municipal levels. In 2017 and 2018, JAI was rated by the Ministry of Education as The Second Batch of National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform Demonstration University and National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Typical Experience University.

In 2009, our Institute set up an entrepreneurship fund of 2 million yuan for college students to support their entrepreneurship in school. In 2016, our Institute adjusted the mode of capital investment and set up the "Incubation Fund for Cultural and Creative Industries of Jilin Animation Institute". The fund amount was increased to 10 million yuan, and there is no upper limit for the investment of outstanding project achievements, in order to meet the fund demand for project transformation.

In 2012, JAI became one of the first private universities in Jilin Province to implement the "National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Plan". By now, it has completed 1413 innovation and entrepreneurship training programs for college students, and more than 7000 students have participated in large-scale innovation and entrepreneurship training.

In 2015, JAI held the first "Lixing Cup" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of Jilin Animation Institute, selected high-quality entrepreneurship projects and recommended to participate in national innovation and entrepreneurship competitions such as "Internet +" college students innovation and entrepreneurship competition, Challenge Cup and Youth Creation. By now, JAI has won 139 awards at or above the provincial level in the "Internet +" college students innovation and entrepreneurship competition. In The Third China "Internet +" College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition ,it has won 2 gold awards in the national competition among 370000 participating projects. JAI is the only private university in China that has won gold awards and two gold awards at the same time.

The school regularly organizes large-scale innovation and entrepreneurship brand activities such as entrepreneurship market, entrepreneurship  lecture hall, entrepreneurship project exchange salon, innovation and entrepreneurship achievement exhibition. Every year more than 8000 students participate in the activities ,which creates an open and flexible innovation and entrepreneurship cultural atmosphere.

The school has established an off campus entrepreneurship base for college students and an innovation and entrepreneurship incubation platform for creative industries, opened up 3000 square meters of student entrepreneurship space, formed a "one-stop" entrepreneurship service mode of project selection, resource allocation, process guidance, results incubation, financing coordination, promotion to the market and brand formation. Meanwhile, JAI has established an innovation and entrepreneurship tutor library composed of successful pioneers, entrepreneurs, industries and technology talents. There are 122 innovation and entrepreneurship tutors. A total of 57 entrepreneurial teams have registered companies with the support of JAI, and 251 entrepreneurial projects have carried out commercial operations in various ways.

In 2016, JAI established the "Alumni Entrepreneurship Alliance", implemented the "Joint Entrepreneurship and Integrated Development" innovation and entrepreneurship mode, fully carried out the "Open Project System", and launched the "New Partner" joint entrepreneurship mechanism. From 2021, JAI together with other colleges and universities in Jilin Province held a "Joint Entrepreneurship and Integrated Development" university tour project promotion meeting to release professional, industrial and project resources, absorb students and alumni teams, and create an "All Staff Entrepreneurship" ecosystem.

In order to thoroughly implement the 20 Principles of the Party and answer the call of “Ji Lin starts a business with you” from Jilin Provincial Commission Government, the school is close around the state’s prospered and developed cultural undertakings and industries, and implements important cultural industry project  driving strategies, with the guidance of the fusion of education, arts, technology, culture, markets, it starts and cohere forces from all sectors of society,  gives full play to the intellectual advantages of college talents and release alliance member resources, builds an ecological platform for joint entrepreneurship and integrated development, deepens the organic integration of "talent chain, professional chain, entrepreneurship chain, technology chain and industrial chain", promotes the development of cultural, creative and entrepreneurial undertakings in colleges and universities and the building of an innovative country. Jilin Provincial University Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Cultural and Creative) Alliance Promotion Association will provide high-quality innovation and entrepreneurship education resources for the whole society and foster a sound education ecology for innovation and entrepreneurship, train more innovative and entrepreneurial personnel, contributing to the implementation of the national strategy of innovation-driven development.

In the future, based on the national "14th Five-Year plan" , “the long-range objectives through the year of 2035”and the strategic deployment of "One main and six double" in Jilin Province ,the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Jilin Animation Institute will fully integrate the innovation and entrepreneurship resources inside and outside the Institute, fully promote the construction of the system and mechanism of "Joint Entrepreneurship and Integrated Development", constantly improve the quality of cultural industry talent training, and give play to the professional advantages, entrepreneurial advantages and talent advantages of colleges and universities, in order to promote the development of regional cultural industry, enhance cultural self-confidence, help cultural power, and contribute to the revitalization and development of national cultural industry.
