School of Comics was found in 2015, which is the first and largest single college engaged in undergraduate cartoon education in China, having an internationally connected and mature teaching system with education-industry cooperation and a practical teaching platform for education-industry docking. There is one major in Comics with nearly 700 undergraduates involved at present. Our school always adheres to the professional development orientation of taking the comics industry as the guide, cultural inheritance and innovation as the mission, heritage training as the responsibility and international docking as the direction, focusing on cultivating high-quality, innovative and applied comics talents. We have established a practical teaching system with quality education as the core, technology application ability training as the main line, innovation and entrepreneurship ability training as the key, and the Integration of Education, Research and Industry as the way. Meanwhile, we have put forth effort on building a characteristic specialty construction mode integrating teaching, scientific research, production, innovation and entrepreneurship incubation, market publicity and operation. Our school holds a team of 34 full-time and part-time teachers who are international, double qualified and entrepreneurial types, and employs nearly 81 industry experts at home and abroad as Guest Professors. In recent years, the teachers have presided over 38 provincial teaching and scientific research projects, published more than 30 papers on CSSCI as well as the core journals of Peking University and provincial level, and published more than 30 academic monographs and teaching materials. Works from teachers and students have won more than 430 awards like The Tenth National Art Exhibition Award, Government Award of The People's Republic of China, Golden Monkey King Award of China International Cartoon & Animation Festival and Golden Dragon Award Original Animation & Comic Competition,(OACC), five of which was selected into "Driving Force" Animation Publishing Incubation Plans supported by National Press and Publication Administration. In 2007, “Chinese Tradition Cartoon Creation Source Plan” won the gold medal at 'Internet+' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. In 2008, “Ideal Township -- Manual Model Teaching and Product Research & Development” won the silver medal. The employment rate of our school has been maintained over 90%, and we have trained a large number of cartoon talents with excellent humanistic quality and high international vision for the country.
