The 5th JAI “24H International Comic Marathon” was held on November 22 online , sponsored by Animation Comics and Game Association of Jilin Province and Jilin Animation institute，and organized by School of Comics of JAI,IP Business Group and“Himaker”Business Group of Jilin JAI Cultural Arts Group Co.LTD ’.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Quan Yingsheng，Xu Tao,  and Yin Qixian  sent their best wishes to the competition through video. They hope that through this competition and academic exchanges, students can broaden their international vision, stimulate their enthusiasm for innovation, and enhance their awareness of international cooperation.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Li Jipin, Vice Dean of the School of Comics. More than 20 universities at home and abroad, including Monash University,Kazakhstan National University of the Arts,  Korea University of Media Atrs ，Beijing Film Academy, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, Sichuan University of Media and Communication, Northeast Normal University and Jilin Animation Institute, participated in the competition.

Professor Zhang Xiaoye, Dean of School of Comics of JAI

Zhang Xiaoye, Dean of the School of Comics of JAI, delivered a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony on behalf of the organizers. She hopes that the teachers and students at home and abroad will jointly explore new ways of comics creation.

Chang Song, a teacher from the School of Comics at JAI, announced the rules of the Competition

The Competition will be grouped together in a cooperative manner according to the process of comics creation. The  competitors will be able to witness the creative process of 24 hours without stop in the form of webcast, and they will complete 8 pages of comics works with a complete story 24 hours later.

During the competition, a series of international comics forum activities titled " Master Seminar of Creative Ideas and Technology" will be held. 

The closing ceremony and award ceremony of the 5th 24H International Comi Marathon was held online at 1:00 PM on December 4, 2022. The long awaited results of the competition and the winning list will be announced at the same time.

Due to the high level of the entries, the competition is very fierce, the selected works reflect the high artistic level and technical content, contains a rich and diverse world culture. Forty-two teams competed fiercely and seven groups won the awards.

The 24H InternationalComic Marathon is playing an increasingly important role in enhancing the original strength of JAI and the level of education and theoretical research in related disciplines, cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign young people, and expanding the international influence of Chinese cartoons. The achievement in this activity marks a big step forward in the process of internationalization of JAI.
