School of Game is the brand and characteristic School of JAI. Since its establishment in 2009, it has been adhering to the school running characteristics of Openness and International Orientation, Integration of Education, Research and Industry, and Technicalization of Creative Products. In the introduction of teachers, competition participation and other aspects, pay attention to in line with international standards. The school co-established the training platform of school-enterprise docking with Archosaur Games Inc in 2015, deepened the implementation of the school-enterprise collaborative education training model, connected with the market in terms of talent training, provided a large number of high-quality and high-level application-oriented talents for major domestic game companies. The employment rate, professional matching rate and student salary levels of School of Game have always been in the forefront of JAI.

The International College Students GameJam is a brand competition of School of Game, based on the success of the previous competition, this year is the fifth session, we hope that the domestic and foreign universities will take the competition as an opportunity to promote exchanges and cooperation among universities, and enhance students’ international vision through the platform of the competition.

At the Opening Ceremony, Professor Masa Furuichi from Nihon University, on behalf of participating universities, sent his blessing to the competition through video, "Let's use the power of the game to save the world!" "We have had a lot of difficulties this year because of the COVID-19 outbreak," he said. "A lot of students have to attend classes online, and game developers have to operate online." But for game developers and game majors, it is a good opportunity to face the future and solve problems, because games have the ability to convey happiness, bring joy to people, and bring the wonderful energy of peace to the world. I sincerely hope that all contestants can demonstrate their ability and charm of the game and achieve good results.

As an extreme game development competition for domestic and foreign universities specializing in game, The Fifth International College Students GameJam Competition aims to enhance students' creative ability, practical ability and international communication ability, and cultivate high-end game talents with international vision. From Nanyang Polytechnic, Tokyo University of Technology, Nihon University, Chungkang College of Cultural Industries, Kongju National University, Guangzhou University, Harbin Normal University, Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts and Jilin Animation Institute, 72 students from ten universities participate the competition, there will be 12 teams, 6 students for each team, with "Journey to The West" as the theme, students will work together to have a joint development of the game including basic information, introduction, features, play and instruction way , art style and game demo for twelve days, the judging panel is composed of tutors and industry experts from each participating universities, and will comprehensively evaluate the game completed by each team in terms of its integrity, fun, marketability and innovation, etc.

During the competition period, the organizing committee will also invite experts from the game industry at home and abroad to give special lectures. On December 2nd, SU ZEFENG, lecturer of Nanyang Polytechnic will give a lecture with the theme "Why do people play". On December 8th, game planning teacher LIU Yaqi form JAI will give a lecture with the theme "Where there are people, there are Jianghu-martial arts and games". Wonderfulness is worth looking forward to!
