On March 20, The School of Animation Industry of Jilin Animation Institute invited international young artist Aiesha Penwarden to give a special lecture named Explanation of Storyboard Drawing Examples to the teachers and students of the animation major of our school. More than 150 teachers and students from School of Animation Industry and School of Animation Art listened to the lecture.

   Aiesha explained the design rules and presentation methods of storyboards in animation projects based on her own project experience and examples in the industry, she also explained in detail through practical cases such as “how storyboard artists use directionality to narrate”, “how to guide the audience’s sight through lines in the composition”, “how to use perspective lines to imply the focus of the subject”, and “how to choose the angle of the camera”. In addition, based on different types of Disney cabaret performances, Aiesha analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of different forms of expression and the important role of emotional expression in cabaret performances.

    At the same time, Aiesha shared learning resources and independent learning methods with teachers and students, and patiently answered creative questions raised by students, and the interactive atmosphere was lively. The teachers and students all expressed that they had benefited a lot from this lecture, and further understood the qualities that professional storyboard designers in the animation industry should possess, and had in-depth thoughts on future creative directions and goals.
