On January 28th, Global Game Jam - China·Changchun - JAI Station Global Game Jam was successfully concluded in Jilin Animation Institute! The closing ceremony was held by online + offline, with members of 19 teams and their instructors attending the closing ceremony. After 48 hours of time-limited theme creation, a total of 17 teams successfully completed their respective game works.

     The Global Game Jam is a test of technical strength, creative expression, teamwork, verbal communication and organizational skills under the limit of 48 hours. During the competition, the contestants brainstorm, discuss design ideas, solve difficult problems, challenge themselves, and strive to create high-quality works. This event also invited Mutual entertainment business group of Jilin JAI Cultural Arts Group Co,.ltd., Archosaur Games Inc and a number of senior teachers to form a think tank to escort the players.

    After the closing ceremony, all the teams that had finished the demo production showed their outstanding game works to everyone through “sharing online and roadshow offline”, and the teachers in charge of the think tank made comments. Each team showed high professional standard and innovation ability, which triggered the admiration and resonance of many players. The instructors also fully recognized the uniqueness and innovation of some of the outstanding game works, and gave constructive suggestions for improvement on their shortcomings.

    The contestants spoke highly of the theme presentation of Make me Laugh created by the Psychic Group; Banan Group created a game called Do Robots Dream of Cyberjokers? Which made everyone said that there was a desire to challenge; There are also a game Double Dragon Play Beads created by the Calabash Brothers Group, and the game Make You Smile created by the Big Hero 6 Group are also unique.

     After the sharing, the contestants carried out free communication and interaction, in order to continuously improve their vision and skill, and met like-minded excellent partners.

   This event is a creative activity for game development enthusiasts. It not only provides an excellent communication platform for the field of digital media art and technology, but also fully demonstrates the contemporary college students’ high cultural accomplishment, creative expression ability combining art and technology and good teamwork spirit. On this basis, a number of excellent game works have been born. It provides valuable practical experience for building a communication platform for domestic and foreign game developers and exploring excellent ideas and talents.

    As the only university site of this Global Game Jam in China, Jilin Animation Institute not only further highlights the school-running characteristics of “open internationalization, integration of academic, research and production, and high-tech creative products”, but also promotes the exchange and cooperation between universities and schools and enterprises.
