Recently, the State Radio and Television Administration announced the award notice of outstanding works of “Animation Blooms and Chasing Dreams for the Future - the 5th Socialist Core Values Animation Short Film Supporting Creation Activity”. Our school’s works Peace and Natural Law won the second class excellent works, and the work Memory was shortlisted excellent works. Jilin Animation Institute was selected as an excellent organizational unit.

In order to vigorously promote socialist core values, guide young animation talents to create animated short films and public welfare videos with distinctive themes and novel styles, and promote the main theme and spread positive energy through animation forms, the National Radio and Television Administration jointly with the Animation and Digital Media Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. In March 2022, “Animation Blooms and Chasing Dreams for the Future - the 5th Socialist Core Values Animation Short Film Supporting Creation Activity” was launched. Since the launch of the activity, the teachers and students of animation majors in universities and the majority of young animation creative talents have actively participated in the activity and created a large number of excellent works. These works focus on the theme and the spirit of The Times, innovative and well-made, reflecting the rich connotation of socialist core values from different angles, reflecting the professional quality and spiritual style of young animation creative talents.

Since the launch of the activity in 2015, JAI has a number of award-winning works, and the number of shortlisted works this year has improved by leaps and bounds compared with previous years. Through the creation of the theme animation, the teachers and students deeply explain the rich connotation, historical roots and practical significance of the socialist core values, pay attention to the ideological and artistic, and guide the teachers and students to launch high-quality animation works, giving full play to the leading role of the socialist core values.

Peace

In 1956, when Qi Baishi was nearly 90 years old, he was asked by People’s Pictorial to draw a piece of work about the “Peace doves”. In order to draw the pigeons well, he personally raised the pigeons and carefully observed the posture of the pigeons when flying, and finally created the “Peace dove”. In December of the same year, in order to congratulate the World People’s Peace Congress held in Vienna, the painter Picasso also created a new work of “Peace Doves”. The “Peace Doves” of the East and the West flew freely on the stage of the World Peace Conference, and the World Peace Council awarded Qi Baishi the International Peace Prize.

 

Natural Law

This film uses a microscopic perspective to show the adventures of two ladybugs in nature. At the same time, the end of the story also triggers our thinking about the continuous destruction of forests by human beings.

 

Memory

This film tells the story of an old sculptor in the last moments of his life in order to complete the last sculpture, this clay sculpture is his fiancee at that time. It shows a sculptor’s missing feelings for his wife, showing his persistence and nostalgia for love. When the sculptor finishes his work, it is also the moment when he comes out of confusion and releases himself at the last moment.
