The students from School of Industrial Design of JAI won the silver and bronze awards in the 2020 PIN UP Concept Design Awards held in South Korea.

The PIN UP Concept Design Awards started in 1977. It was organized by the Korean Government (Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy), hosted by the Korea Industrial Design Association, and co-organized by Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, LG Electronics and other companies. Students from universities and designers around the world participated in this competition.

In the 2020 PIN UP Concept Design Awards, a jury composed of 30 academic and industry experts from South Korea conducted the first round of work review online, and 15 foreign experts teamed up from South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom and other countries conducted the second round. The works were reviewed carefully and the winning works were finally selected and announced in March 2021.

The students teamed up in a group of two from Production Design 1^st Studio School were led by mentors Kim Taekyung and CAI Meng to prepare for the competition for one month ahead. The design plans were came from daily life, kept up with current events, carefully observed, discovered daily needs, and made in-depth improvements, the final designs were recognized internationally.

The welcome affirmation of international review to our students' works is a high recognize of students' innovative ability and professional level. School of Industrial Design has actively encouraged teachers and students to participate in various international competitions since 2016, and achieved outstanding results. The international vision of teachers and students has also been expensed.

Through continuous exploration and improvement of professional teaching, the overall professional level and teaching direction of school are in line with international standards. We are expecting that the teachers and students of the School of Industrial Design will continue to work hard and achieve better results in international competitions in the near future.

Introduction：

With the out breaking of the COVID-19 around the world, epidemic prevention has became a very important issue in various countries. In the process of epidemic prevention, the safety of medical staff must be put in the first priority. The design concept of this product originated from the epidemic prevention inspection site, the autonomous driving robot perform functions substitute medical staff such as body temperature measurement, nucleic acid inspection, disinfection, and patient transfer according to the needs of the epidemic prevention program. This design provides a safe and efficient epidemic prevention environment for medical stuffs.

Due to limited luggage space, it is impossible to bring a lot of changing clothes which are easily wrinkled. This wireless charging and portable electric iron is designed for dealing with this trouble. It is convenient to carry and use, not only iron the wrinkles on shirts and other clothes, but also remove food and beverage stains on the clothes.
