The scorching summer heat has finally subsided and the grass at the bottom of the steps has a little bead of dew on it. On August 26, Jilin Animation Institute (JAI) in early autumn ushered in a batch of brand new faces, more than 3,000 Grade of 2023 freshmen came to the beautiful campus of JAI as scheduled, they came from 30 provinces, cities and autonomous regions across the country, with the vision of knowledge, the expectations of the future, and jointly opened the door of the university to start a new journey of life.
The morning of Changchun at the end of August was cool, but the teachers, students and volunteers of JAI travelled to Changchun Railway Station, Changchun West Railway Station and Changchun Longjia International Airport in several buses to welcome the new students and their parents who came from afar. More than 200 teachers, 300 volunteers and 200 logistic support staff also came to the campus early to welcome the new students. Inside the campus, colourful balls were fluttering, banners were waving in the wind, and the orientation display boards were distinctive with eye-catching slogans. At the school gate, the fountain danced to the beat of the music, welcoming the new students together with the teachers and volunteers!
Chairman and President of JAI, Zheng Liguo came to the new student registration site and student dormitory to check the new student registration situation. He enjoined everyone to do all the services meticulously so as to make students feel at home and parents feel at ease. Vice President Liu Xin, school leaders Liu Zhenhua, Wang Chunli, Wang Xiaoyan, Zhang Yanwei, Zheng Lijun, Gai Shirui, etc. also came to the orientation site, for the smooth enrolment of students to do a good job of guidance and service work. The dean of each school, the functional departments responsible for comrades were on the scene, carefully check the reception process, and talked cordially to the volunteers, new students and parents. They encouraged new students to integrate into university life as soon as possible, and fully communicated and exchanged with students' parents.
Meet and get to know each other, seek common development. In order to enhance the communication between home and school, cohesion of ideological consensus, convergence of parenting synergy, and help students to develop comprehensively, on the 26th, ten schools such as School of Animation Art, School of Comics, School of Game, School of Film organized and convened a seminar for parents of new students of the Class of 2023 respectively. At the meeting, the leaders of the schools introduced the institute situation, school situation, as well as the development of the school and the results achieved in recent years to the representatives of new parents. What’s more, they introduced parents how to cooperate with the school to carry out a good academic planning for students after students entering into the school, how to grasp the four-year university studies and the employment direction of graduates, etc., so that parents were given an in-depth understanding of the inner workings of the school, and worked together to advise on the training of their children and to promote the growth and success of students.
Representatives of the parents present at the meeting also made enquiries and exchanges one by one on the situation of the school and the institute, students' study, and the requirements of the school's management. Mr. Zhang, a parent from Yunnan, said that the arrangement of the school is too considerate, especially the parents' symposium, which let them have a clearer understanding of our children's professional direction, and it is easier for parents and the school to form a synergy to help their children study hard and build their dreams and voyages. Another parent from Tianjin said that JAI is a famous school, especially the animation major, which is highly rated online, and hoped that his child would learn excellent skills, expand his horizons and improve his quality here.
