On December 17, 2023 Digital Art Special Committee Annual Meeting of The Chinese Society of Image and Graphics and The AI + Film and Television Digital Art and Technology Forum was grandly held at Jilin Animation Institute. This forum is hosted by The Chinese Society of Image and Graphics, hosted by The Digital Art Professional Committee of The Chinese Society of Image and Graphics, Jilin Animation Institute, and co-organized by School of Virtual Reality and Film Technology of Jilin Animation Institute. With the general theme of “AI+ Film and Television Digital Art Summit Forum under the Background of AIGC”, it aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the application and impact of artificial intelligence technology in the film and television digital art education industry, exchange experience in the construction of interdisciplinary majors in art and technology, and explore how the Digital Art Professional Committee provides support for the construction of majors related to artificial intelligence and film and television technology to improve the quality of talent training in related majors.

This forum consists of 4 sections: "Opening Ceremony, Academic Report, Round Table Forum and Society Special Committee Meeting". It is divided into morning and afternoon sessions, hosted by Cheng Mingzhi and Chen Jingwei respectively. During the opening ceremony, Liu Zhenhua and Huang Xinyuan delivered speeches.

Liu Zhenhua expressed that Jilin Animation Institute has been committed to promoting the rapid development of film and television digital art and other related disciplines and majors. Therefore, Jilin Animation Institute takes the lead in integrating artificial intelligence technology into education and teaching, innovating the construction of film and television digital art majors, and cultivating film and television digital art talents with innovative abilities and practical experience. Today's forum brings together experts, scholars, practitioners and educators from the domestic industry to discuss the current status, challenges and future development trends of film and television digital art education in the context of AIGC. I believe that participants will have an in-depth analysis of the application of artificial intelligence technology in film and television production, special effects design, animation character design, etc., as well as how AIGC technology promotes new ideas and new directions in film and television digital art creation.

Huang Xinyuan expressed that The Digital Art Special Committee used one word to describe it - “Brilliance”. When The Special Committee was established in the early 1990s, computer graphics had just emerged in China. The establishment and naming of The Digital Art Special Committee proved its historical stage. Nowadays, artificial intelligence is developing rapidly and has disruptive changes to the industry. Therefore, this forum discussion plays a vital role in cultivating digital art talents. I would also like to thank Jilin Animation Institute for providing this platform. I believe that the special committee will develop rapidly and reproduce “Brilliance” with the joint efforts of all experts.
At the forum, experts and scholars from Communication University of China, Jilin University, Jilin Animation Institute, Jilin University of The Arts, ByteDance, Mandrill Pictures Visual Effects Technology Co., Ltd. and other units gave academic reports. They discussed the development of virtual digital humans based on AI multi-modal perception capabilities, AI education and generative intelligence, The production and driving of digital people, the construction of virtual simulation courses and the digital transformation of traditional art, analysis of functional games and practical projects in universities, creation and sharing of visual effects concepts forSanti, digital art talent cultivation in the context of the Metaverse and AIGC, and other related topics.
Roundtable Meeting
The roundtable meeting was chaired by Zhang Rui, Executive Vice Dean of School of Virtual Reality and Film Technology, and was attended by five experts: Li Hongxin, Yu Chunna, Tian Ye, Chen Xing and Chen Wei. Using “Digital Art Talent Cultivation and Industry-Education Integration under the Integration of Art and Technology” as the theme to launch a passionate collision of ideas.
