From June 8 to 14, Festival International du Film d'Animation d'Annecy, which hailed as the “Oscars of Animation”, was grandly held in France. As a key component of the festival, MIFA took place concurrently from June 10 to 13.
A seven-member delegation from Jilin Animation Institute (JAI), led by Chairman and President Zheng Liguo, made a remarkable appearance at the event. The delegation included Gai Shirui, Vice President of JAI, Qu Jiayuan (Executive Deputy General Manager of Jilin JAI Vixo Pictures Co., LTD. and Vice Dean of School of Future Intelligent Image), and Zheng Xinran (Assistant General Manager of Jilin JAI Vixo Pictures Co., LTD.), among others. They showcased multiple original IP works created by faculty and students, engaged in in-depth international industry dialogues, and achieved key outcomes in areas such as technological integration, talent recruitment, and international collaboration—highlighting JAI’s distinctive innovative energy and creative excellence.
Original IP works have attracted international attention
Festival International du Film d'Animation d'Annecy stands as one of the world's largest and most prestigious events in the animation industry. JAI showcased original IP works including animated films such asZap’s Last Stand,The Frog Kingdom, along with their derivative products spanning animation, comics, games, and other fields. These works, blending distinctive Chinese cultural elements with modern creative expression, captured significant attention from international production companies and distributors. This exposure has laid a solid foundation for the global development of Jilin Animation Institute’s original IPs.
The special recruitment session strengthened the development of an internationalized faculty matrix.
