Recently, the School of Film in Jilin Animation Institute has carried out a director workshop with Rangsit University in Thailand, and jointly implemented the production projectStolen Heartbeats. Taking the director workshop as the carrier, this transnational cooperation focuses on the innovation of film and television education, and builds a practical and theoretical exchange platform for teachers and students of the two schools to integrate technology and art.
The workshop invited Professor Lapipimol Chaiyasana from the School of Communication Arts of Rangsit University (Thailand) to teach on campus and jointly form a director workshop with teachers from JAI. The workshop carried out practical training around the full process of film and television creation, including script reading, audio-visual techniques, location scouting practice, and actor guidance. Students majoring in Directing, Drama, Film and Television Art, Photography, etc., from the School of Film in JAI participated deeply, closely integrating theoretical knowledge with practical operations in real creative scenarios to continuously hone their professional skills. According to the curriculum plan, the two sides jointly completed the filming of the micro-filmStolen Heartbeats, and a launching ceremony was held on May 29. Relevant leaders such as Liu Zhenhua, Executive President of JAI and Dean of the School of Film, as well as the main creative team of the micro-film and some teachers and students from School of Film attended the launching ceremony.

Stolen Heartbeatsis a micro-film focusing on the fantasy campus theme, serving as a "ticket" for young creators to debut on international platforms and compete in various domestic and international film and television exhibitions and competitions. It injects new momentum into the school's exploration of the integration path between film and television industrial processes and youth creativity, as well as the promotion of international joint creation. During the workshop, Professor Lapipimol Chaiyasana also delivered an academic lecture titledMultiple Paths of Southeast Asian Film and Television Creation and Developmentand held a teaching method seminar, further broadening the international vision of teachers and students.

During the workshop, teachers and students from the School of Film in JAI had face-to-face exchanges and discussions with Professor Chaiyasana, delving into topics such as teaching design and curriculum setting. Professor Chaiyasana spoke highly of JAI's teaching support facilities. Regarding the hot topic of "introducing AI technology into teaching," he proposed the concept of "guiding rather than banning," suggesting that students should be trained to develop creative thinking without relying on AI through timed in-class assignments, while using AI tools to enrich original expressions. In terms of curriculum setting, Rangsit University's model of "offering practical courses in the first year and encouraging freshmen to complete their debut works" has drawn attention. Its assignment design case of "independent film script re-creation + comparative analysis" provides a reference for JAI to optimize teaching processes.
This director workshop is not only a practical exploration of transnational film and television creation but also a two-way empowerment of educational concepts. Through interdisciplinary collaboration of "technology + art", both sides have achieved experience sharing in teaching models, curriculum design, tool application and other fields, injecting a global vision and innovative vitality into film and television education.
