On July 24th, Hu Zhiping, the incoming Chairman of the Expert Committee for International Communication of Chinese Culture of the China Private Education Association; Zhang Xinyuan, Deputy Director of the Department of International Culture and Communication at Beijing City University and Project Leader of the Research and Practice Base for International Chinese Language Education in Private Colleges and Universities under the Language Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education; and Wei Shuhua, Vice Chairman of the Expert Committee for International Communication of Chinese Culture of the China Private Education Association, Director of the China-Mexico City Culture Research Center, and the first Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, visited our institute. They held discussions on the participation of private schools in the international communication of Chinese culture and invited our institute to join the aforementioned Expert Committee. Zheng Liguo, Chairman and President of our institute; Liu Xin, Vice Chairman; and relevant heads of the institute accompanied the guests during the visit and discussions.

The guests visited the Institute History Museum, Jilin International Animation Museum, and the Exhibition Hall of Integrated Academic-Research-Industry Creation Achievements in sequence. At the Institute History Museum, the guests gained a comprehensive understanding of the institute’s development history, school-running characteristics, and remarkable achievements. At the Jilin International Animation Museum, they were deeply impressed by the artistic charm of the displayed works. At the Exhibition Hall of Integrated Academic-Research-Industry Creation Achievements, the guests highly praised the original animated films 《Zap’s Last Stand》 and 《Square Animal City》(created by teachers and students) as well as the original derivatives featuring Jilin’s regional cultural characteristics.

During the tour, Liu Xin introduced the institute’s school-running situation to the guests. Adhering to the three core school-running characteristics—"open internationalization, integration of academic research and industry, and high-tech application in creative products"—the institute relies on its status as a national-level innovation and entrepreneurship college construction unit and emphasizes in-depth integration of industry and education in talent cultivation. In the era of artificial intelligence, the institute has established emerging majors in accordance with the layout of the full-process film and television VFX industry chain, aiming to cultivate new-type talents in intelligent imaging and VFX creation who can meet the needs of future industries. Hu Zhiping stated that this fully demonstrates the institute’s profound foundation.

At the forum, Hu Zhiping introduced the purpose and preparation progress of the Expert Committee for International Communication of Chinese Culture (hereinafter referred to as the "Expert Committee"). He noted that the establishment of the Expert Committee is intended to promote the development of relevant disciplines and majors in member schools, enhance their capacity to serve the international communication of Chinese culture, and pool resources from all parties to contribute the strength of private education to the global dissemination of Chinese culture. He emphasized that Jilin Animation Institute is a well-known private institution of higher education in China, with strong strength in animation education, cultural industry, and international communication. He sincerely invited the institute to join the Expert Committee and expressed expectations for the institute to play an important role.

Zheng Liguo responded by stating that the institute has always adhered to the school-running characteristic of "open internationalization," continuously expanded its global cooperation network, and promoted the spread of Chinese culture to the world. In recent years, Chinese private colleges and universities have achieved remarkable results in high-quality development, connotative construction, and the development of specialized features. However, there is still significant room for improvement in their right to speak and influence on the international education stage. He pointed out that the Expert Committee will effectively promote the international development of private colleges and universities in the new era and put forward relevant suggestions on the follow-up work for the institute’s membership in the Expert Committee.
At the meeting, the two parties reached a preliminary consensus on Jilin Animation Institute joining the Expert Committee. In the future, driven by innovation and supported by cooperation, the two parties will work together with other member units to promote the extensive dissemination and in-depth exchange of Chinese culture on the international stage, and contribute the wisdom and strength of private education to enhancing the international influence of Chinese culture.
