Joining Hands with Northeast Asia, Opening Up to Win the Future. From August 27 to 31, the 15th China–Northeast Asia Expo was held at the Northeast Asia Expo Center in Changchun. As the only university from Jilin Province invited to participate, Jilin Animation Institute made a remarkable appearance, showcasing original animated films, digital achievements, and related derivative products. Together with key enterprises from Jilin Province, the Institute presented the “Jilin story” and highlighted the province’s unique charm.

Compared with previous editions, this year’s Expo has significantly expanded in scale and level, covering an exhibition area of 73,000 square meters and attracting more than 1,000 enterprises from 45 countries and regions. The Expo focused on showcasing Jilin’s “six major advantages” and the latest achievements in cooperation with Northeast Asia and key regions across China, aiming to build a long-term platform for mutually beneficial, cooperative, and open exchanges between China and Northeast Asian countries.

The Jilin Animation Institute exhibition area was rich in content and full of highlights. In the field of animated films and series, it showcased original projects by the Institute’s faculty and students, including Zap’s Last Stand, When the Wheat Ripens, and Battle of the Birds in Classic of Mountains and Seas, giving visitors an early glimpse of exciting storylines. Trailers and posters for vertical-screen short series such as This Killer Isn’t Very Good (Parts 1 and 2) and The Final Key were played on vertical-screen TVs on site, attracting many visitors to stop and watch. In the derivative products area, merchandise from projects such as Animal City of Tube, Zap’s Last Stand, and Frog Kingdom was on full display, fully demonstrating the Institute’s achievements in developing film and television IPs. The school’s promotional video was looped on the main screen of the exhibition area, comprehensively showcasing the Institute’s solid foundation in film and television production, its fruitful achievements in digital content creation for the cultural industry, and its strong industrial practice capabilities, providing visitors with a window to understand the school.

Participating in this year’s Expo provided Jilin Animation Institute with a valuable opportunity to engage and collaborate with leading domestic and international enterprises. The Institute leveraged this platform to fully showcase its teaching and research achievements in animation production and related fields, highlighting innovative practices that integrate Jilin cultural elements with digital technology. Looking ahead, Jilin Animation Institute will take this participation as a new starting point to further deepen both domestic and international exchanges and cooperation, continuously explore new pathways for the integration of digital technology and cultural creativity, and contribute greater wisdom and strength to promoting Jilin’s cultural industry on the global stage and the vigorous development of China’s animation industry.
