On September 27, the 3rd China (Jilin) Animation Conference opened in Changchun under the theme “Marching Toward Innovation, Leaping Into the Future.” Cao Lubao, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Head of the Publicity Department, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Gao Shiming, Member of the Leading Party Members’ Group, Vice Chairman, and Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC), and Yan Xiaoming, Chairman of the China Television Artists Association, were among the leaders and distinguished guests in attendance. Animation creators, practitioners, and scholars from across the country gathered in Changchun to contribute Jilin’s strength to the high-quality development of China’s animation industry.
Opening Ceremony
The conference is guided by CFLAC and the Publicity Department of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, hosted by the China Television Artists Association and the Jilin Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and jointly organized by Jilin Animation Institute, the Animation Art Committee of the China Television Artists Association, the Jilin Cultural Industry Promotion Association, the Jilin Radio and Television Artists Association, and Jilin Jidong Tianbo Film & Television Production Co., Ltd.
This year’s conference received over 410 submissions across three categories: TV animation, original comics, and academic papers on animation. The program features a wide range of events, including the opening ceremony, the 2025 Seminar on High-Quality Development of Animation, screenings of outstanding works, artists entering campuses, “Dynamic Animation Night,” and a creative incubation and investment promotion fair. In addition, a number of special activities will be held, such as the premiere of Crazy Computer City, a retrospective film exhibition, a fine comic manuscript exhibition, the premiere of Come Closer, See You, the Jilin University Students’ Entrepreneurship Market & Animation Carnival, and the Teaching Achievements Exhibition celebrating the 25th anniversary of Jilin Animation Institute. Together, these activities showcase excellent works, the latest achievements, and highlights of the animation arts from multiple perspectives.
Launch Ceremony
Today, Jilin’s animation industry is steadily advancing transformation and upgrading in areas such as policy support, technological innovation, talent development, and IP operation. A development pattern of “enterprise-driven, university-empowered, and policy-supported” is taking shape. A group of competitive animation industry bases, leading enterprises, and technical teams are rapidly emerging, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the regional economy.
