School of Marxism

The School of Marxism at Jilin Animation Institute is a core platform for ideological and political education, research, outreach and talent development, as well as a key department delivering I&P courses. Evolving from the former Teaching and Research Office of Ideological and Political Theory, it is a secondary teaching and research unit under the leadership of the University Party Committee, responsible for I&P courses for over 10,000 students.

The School has 2 professors, 5 associate professors, 2 PhD candidates, with all other faculty holding master’s degrees. It comprises a General Office and 7 teaching sections for core I&P courses. Upholding Party building as the guide, the School has achieved notable progress: it was recognized as the University's First Batch of Model Party Building Units (2023) and Second Batch of Exemplary Party Branches for New Era Party Building (2024), and received the honor of Advanced Grassroots Party Organization for three consecutive years (2023-2025). Several faculty have been honored as Advanced Party Workers or Outstanding Party Members; one group lesson was included in the 2024 Excellent Case Library of Jilin Provincial University League Schools—the only private university in the province to receive this recognition.

Guided by President's Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the School fulfills the fundamental task of fostering morality and cultivating people, prioritizing teaching quality, faculty development and organized research. From 2022 to 2025, faculty published 27 papers and led 10 provincial and 10 university-level research projects. Teaching excellence is demonstrated by 79 award-winning entries at all levels, including 46 national/provincial/municipal I&P teaching awards (9 first prizes, 8 second prizes). Five faculty received nominations for the Annual Influential Teachers in Jilin Universities, and faculty-student teams have won numerous prizes in provincial and national I&P course competitions.

Going forward, the School will align with national strategies, advance development per national standards, deepen curriculum reform, striving to build a high-level School of Marxism.
