On September 22, Jilin Animation Institute (JAI) held the “Qingyi Qichuang” Showcase and Pitching Event for Animation Fundamentals Collaborative Micro-Projects at the Cultural and Arts Center. The event aimed to assess the implementation of project-based teaching reform at the foundational stage of animation education, showcase students’creative and practical achievements, facilitate face-to-face exchanges between industry experts and students, and create pathways for the incubation and development of creative works. The event also launched the call for applications for the second edition of the "Sharp Angle Initiative" animation investment and incubation program. Representatives from relevant university departments, industry mentors from JAI’s Industry-Education Integrated Practical Teaching Platform, as well as faculty members and students from the School of Animation Arts attended the event. Miao Luxi, Executive Vice Dean of the School of Animation Arts, delivered a speech on behalf of JAI at the request of Zheng Liguo, Chairman and President of the university.

The event closely aligned with JAI’s strategic goal of developing a distinctive, high-level, application-oriented university and building a comprehensive entrepreneurial university. It represented a concrete effort to deepen industry-education integration and promote the coordinated development of six key areas: the talent chain, professional education chain, entrepreneurship chain, technology chain, industry chain, and consumer chain. With a focus on the high-quality development of two key outputs—students and creative works—the event integrated project-based practical teaching throughout the entire talent development process. Industry standards were applied to evaluate classroom learning, while market resources were leveraged to support students’ creative practice. By promoting closer alignment between classroom teaching, real-world industry scenarios, and market needs, JAI seeks to enhance teaching quality, empower students through practical experience, facilitate the realization of creative ideas, and promote the transformation of creative works into market-oriented outcomes.
During the 2025–2026 academic year, students completed nearly 300 micro-animation projects, of which 140 projects were selected for further evaluation. Following expert review, 70 projects received awards, while another 11 projects were selected for support and incubation through the "Sharp Angle Initiative"of JAI’s Industry-Education Integrated Practical Teaching Platform. Every honor marks an important milestone in the students’ journey from beginners to creators, reflecting their growth through creative practice. Each award also recognizes the effort invested by students and the value of their creative works.

Looking ahead, JAI will continue to uphold its educational commitment to being responsible to students, parents, the industry, society, and the country. The university will further deepen the development of its comprehensive industry-education integrated teaching system, improve its practical education and industry incubation mechanisms, and create a supportive environment for creative development. Through these efforts, JAI aims to cultivate interdisciplinary animation professionals with artistic vision, philosophical thinking, and practical expertise across the entire industrial production process, empowering young animation creators to pursue their dreams and contributing more passionate, responsible, and capable talent to the development of Chinese animation.
