To advance international friendship and cooperation in the fields of education and people-to-people exchanges in Jilin Province, Liu Qiang, Vice President of the Jilin People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, led a delegation to Jilin Animation Institute (JAI) for a research and exchange visit on July 7. Liu Xin, Vice Chairman of JAI, accompanied the delegation during the visit and attended the subsequent discussion.

During the discussion, Liu Xin extended a warm welcome to Vice President Liu Qiang and his delegation and expressed her appreciation for the long-standing support provided by the Jilin People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries to the development of the university.
Liu Xin noted that, since its establishment 26 years ago, “open and internationalized education” has remained the foremost of JAI's three distinctive educational features. The university has invited more than 500 experts from overseas, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan to deliver lectures and conduct workshops to guide students in their creative work, with the aim of developing an internationalized talent cultivation system.
At present, leveraging the development of its Shuangyang Industry-Education Integration Campus, JAI is extending a global invitation to establish an "entrepreneurship consortium." The initiative aims to build an international entrepreneurial ecosystem featuring "joint entrepreneurship and integrated development," while actively attracting high-level talent and high-quality projects to Jilin Province’s cultural and creative industries.
Liu Qiang introduced the Jilin People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries' ongoing discussions with the New York Film Academy regarding inter-university cooperation with higher education institutions in Jilin Province. He expressed the hope that JAI could pursue practical cooperation in areas such as practice-based teaching, short-term exchange programs, faculty exchanges, joint creative projects, and industry collaboration, thereby facilitating the implementation of substantive cooperation projects.
He also noted that the Jilin People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries would actively leverage its international and foreign-affairs resources to assist JAI in establishing connections with more internationally renowned universities and industry partners, supporting the university in expanding its international cooperation network and further enhancing the internationalization of its educational programs.
The delegation also visited the JAI History Museum, the Exhibition of Fine Original Manuscripts of Chinese Animation and Comic Art, and the university's industry-academia practice teaching platform.
Liu Qiang spoke highly of JAI's achievements in preserving and innovating animation and comic art and culture. He noted that the Exhibition of Fine Original Manuscripts of Chinese Animation and Comic Art vividly demonstrates the artistic appeal and contemporary value of traditional Chinese culture. In the future, the Jilin People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries could make effective use of this resource when hosting international delegations, helping introduce the story of Jilin and the story of China to audiences around the world.
