From October 21st to 25th, 2024 CILECT Congress was held in Communication University of China (CUC). As a full member of CILECT, we were invited by CILECT and the Media Centre of CUC to send representatives to attend the Congress and make a keynote speech. The Congress brought together scholars and researchers from film and television colleges and universities around the world to discuss the future trends and innovative directions of artificial intelligence and film education. On October 23rd, Ho Chun Fai, a teacher of the Creative Production Practical Teaching Platform of JAI, made a presentation entitled “Innovation and Development of Film and Television Education Based on AI Technology”, sharing JAI's exploration and practice in this field.

Bruce Sheridan, President of CILECT and Professor of Columbia College Chicago, USA, and Stanislav Semerdjiev, Executive Director of CILECT and Professor of the Bulgarian National Academy of Theatre and Cinematographic Arts, presided over the main agendas of the Congress such as the election of the President of CILECT and the annual report respectively. Michael Kowalski, Chair of CNA and Senior Associate Dean of the Dodge Film School at Chapman University, USA, moderated the keynote presentation on 23rd.
Ho Chun Fai gave a keynote speech
Ho Chun Fai introduced in detail the specific practice of JAI in the innovation of AI technology in film and television education, elaborating on the deep integration of technology and art, the optimisation of educational resources and the enhancement of teaching effect in our school. The original works of teachers and students, such as Frog Kingdom, Battle of Mountains and Seas and Shadow of Legend, fully demonstrated the school's innovative achievements and forward-looking vision in the field of film and television education. Ho Chun Fai said that AI technology is currently facing many challenges in film and television education, including the maturity of the technology, the adaptability of teachers to new technology, and how to balance the relationship between the application of AI technology and the cultivation of students' creativity. He said that JAI is looking forward to cooperating with colleagues from all walks of life to jointly promote the application and development of AI technology in film and television education, and to cultivate more new film and television talents who can adapt to the changes in the industry.

Experts and scholars from Chapman University in the United States, University of São Paulo in Brazil and other film and television colleges and universities appreciated the exploration and practice of JAI in film and television education with AI technology, and discussed with representatives of JAI on the role and development speed of AI in film and television education and explored the enhancement of transnational education resource sharing and scientific research cooperation in the context of AI technology, so as to push forward the process of internationalisation of film and television education.

During the Congress, representatives of our school actively participated in the agendas, and had in-depth exchanges with the world-renowned film and television colleges and universities, such as the University of Southern California, Korea University of Media Arts, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, etc., which fully demonstrated the school's achievements and characteristics in the fields of film and television production, animation, digital media and other areas of schooling, and reached the preliminary intention of exchange visits and joint creation with a number of internationally renowned colleges and universities. In the future, JAI will continue to uphold the schoo-running characteristics of “Openness and International Orientation, Integration of Education, Research and Industry, Technicalization of Creative Products”, deepen the integration of production and education, strengthen the exchange and cooperation with global film and television colleges and universities, and make greater contributions to the prosperity and development of the global film and television industry, and contribute JAI’s wisdom and strength to the construction of a more open, tolerant and innovative film and television education ecology.
