Recently, the 23rd BaiMa Lake Cultural Exchange Event and the 15th Anniversary Symposium of the Cross-Strait Creative Universities Alliance were successfully held in Hangzhou's BaiMa Lake. The event saw participation from nearly 300 creative universities, research institutions, industry associations, cultural and creative enterprises, and media friends from both sides of the Strait. During the conference, Jilin Animation Institute (JAI)was invited to join the Cross-Strait Creative Universities Alliance; Zheng Liguo, the institute's Chairman, was appointed as the Deputy Director of the alliance, and Liu Xiqian, a teacher from the School of Design, was appointed as the Deputy Secretary-general of the alliance. The conference was co-hosted by the Cross-Strait Cultural and Creative Industry University Research Alliance, Hangzhou Normal University, and Beijing Jinghe Cultural Tourism Development Research Institute.
Over the past fifteen years since its establishment, the Cross-Strait Creative Universities Alliance has consistently adhered to the integrated development of politics, production, education, research, and application. Through activities such as the National Art Fund Artist Training Project, the Chinese Youth Student Creativity Contest, the Cross-Strait Youth Entrepreneurship Roundtable Forum, cultural industry project research, and seminars, it has built a broad stage for young talents from both sides of the Strait to showcase their talents and exchange ideas.
Themed "Saluting Fifteen Years, Intelligently Creating New Chapters," the conference featured opening ceremony keynote speeches, four major thematic discussions, closed-door meetings for university presidents, and inspection visits to delve into topics related to culture, tourism, sports, and innovative talent training across the Strait. Keynote speeches at the opening ceremony discussed new trends in the development of cultural and creative industries under Chinese modernization, new productive forces and cultural tourism development, aiming to continue the Chinese cultural vein and promote the creative transformation and innovative development of excellent traditional Chinese culture. The four major thematic discussions focused on "High-quality development of the cultural, sports, and tourism industry under new productive forces," "Cultural exchange and integration among youth in the digital intelligence era across the Strait," "Innovative exploration of new productive forces and cross-strait cinematic arts," and "Innovation in Chinese traditional culture and tourism development." Our teacher, Liu Xiqian, participated in and concluded the discussion on "Innovation in Chinese Traditional Culture and Tourism Development"; during the inspection visit, participants went to the Liangzhu Museum, Liangzhu 5000+ Art Creation Park, and visited cultural and creative enterprises in Hangzhou to experience the profound heritage of traditional culture and the vitality of innovative culture firsthand.
This conference highlighted the characteristics of "digital intelligence," focusing on the popularization and application of AI technology. It was decided that the Cross-Strait Creative Alliance would be developed into a home for alliance members, a high ground for cultural theory research, a hub for cross-strait creative talent training, and a platform for the integration of politics, production, education, research, and application. In the future, it aims to serve as a "fuser" of resources and a "booster" for university development.
