Cartoonist Tsai Chih Chung will Deliver a Speech

On November 17, from 14:00 to 16:00, Mr. Tsai Chih Chung, the cartoonist in Taiwan as well as the Emeritus Dean of School of Comics in JAI will deliver a speech on "Animation Life" in the multi-functional meeting room on the second floor of JAI Culture and Art Center.


Notes: Mr. Tsai Chih Chung, was born in 1948 in Zhanghua. When he was 4 years old, he was aimed to devote his whole life to painting. Mr. Tsai mailed his works to Taipei Shueisha and was admitted when he was 15 years old. Then, he became a professional cartoonist and kept creating works for more than 40 years. Many of his Chinese classic cartoon books have been sold to 40 million volumes and circulated among 45 countries. In 2010, he published the monograph, "Oriental Universe Trilogy", in which the power of pen is extended to physics and math and the physic theories are re-illustrated from the oriental perspective. Also, he was shortlisted by the 35th Golden Tripod Award due to this monograph. Mr Tsai is adept at shaping charaters with simple lines which are full of zen, thereby articulatinghis unique understanding on Chinese classic works, philosophical thought and buddhist principles.
