On 26th December, 2018 7th JAI English Speech Contest held by School of International Exchange was completely wrapped up in the cultural& art center. Vice Principal Wang Chunli, Wang Huiping, Vice minister of Student Affairs Department, Ge Yingying, Associate Dean of School of Game, Feng Changbao, Associate Dean of School of VR, Rita Zhang, Associate Dean of School of International Visual Effect, Liu Weibin, Associate Dean of School of Animation Art, Wen Lijun, Assistant Dean of School of Television and New Media, Cong Xiaozhi, Assistant Dean of School of Comics, Miao Luxi, Associate Dean of School of International Exchange attended this contest.
Meanwhile, Bao Yiping, Vice Director of Enterprise Planning and Strategic Development Center, Huang Paichou, Vice Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office and heads of other departments evaluated 16 candidates from their speech content, pronunciation, skills, etc.
Guests and Reviewers listen carefully
This contest was renewed compared with previous competition, including 3 circles---self-introduction, topic-set speech and knowledge ask& answer. Before contest started, students from School of Civil Aviation showed their aviation English. Students from School of Animation Art gave their performance on dubbing.
Candidates gave their speeches
This contest lasted almost two months from initial to the final competition, attracting over 200 students from 18 schools attended. Finally, there were 16 students selected entered the final round. Reviewers were moved and surprised by their high-level skills and gave them encouragement.
Vice Principal Wang Chunli and Associate Dean of School of Animation Art gave awards to Wu Jiayin
After a professional selection, there were five students awarded first-level prizes and 10 students won second-level awards, and 24 won third-level prizes.
Finally Wang Chunli wrapped up this contest, she wishes that students in JAI will learn more English language and communicate more with internationally majors.
Upholding a belief that students should speak English, JAI continuously encouraged students to challenge and show themselves. The aim is to make School of International Exchange into an open window and to contribute more to our school.
