Zhan Jingyao, a famous comics artist gave a lecture on the development and creation of Japanese mecha anime at 1:30pm on 4 April 2018 at conference room A303. He started from popular films and analysed the characteristics and elements of Otaku culture. Then he introduced mecha anime, the sub-culture of Otaku culture. He introduced the development of Japanese mecha anime from 1960s to 1970s involving clear graphics, anime cases and representatives. In the meantime, he discussed with other lecturers about mecha anime, which helps other lecturers had a better understanding of anime market.
