On September 19th morning, American famous comics creator, creative game master, famous illustration artist and the creator of Disney comics Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse-Mr. Patrick Block and his wife Shelly Block, were invited to come to our institute for academic lectures on the topic of Similarities and differences in the story writing creation of animation and games. Teachers and students from School of Animation Art, School of Comics and School of Games listened to this lecture and the host was Ms. Dong Jian, the associate director of School of Comics.
First of all, Mr. Patrick Block greeted all the audiences in fluent Chinese. When it comes to the relations of comics, animation and games, Mr. Patrick Block introduced his attitude towards art combined with their own experiences that is to entertain one’s self first and then to attract others. Meanwhile, Mr. Patrick Block highlighted the thoughts of art, he explained the story of Donald Duck from theme, climax and ending to show the unique creation art to the audiences by humorous and simple ways.
In the process of asking questions, Students put forward their own questions and views enthusiastically and Patrick couple gave detailed answers in humorous words. They insisted that art needs feeling by one’s self and the comic works should be simple and brief to be understood. The atmosphere was wonderful.
At last, Mr. Patrick Block took his own career as the example and encouraged students to take full use of the time in university life for creating more great works in order to have much more advantages to choose the career they like.
