On May 3rd, Anna Kai Ter, Dean of International Exchange Office, Gene Bawden, Dean of Design Department of Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, and Wang Ying, Dean of China Zone of Monash University paid a visit to JAI. Accompanied by Miao Luxi, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Center of JAI and Hao Yan, a coordinator from International Cooperation and Exchange Center, they watched the trailer of JAI and the 4D film clip of “Sports Meeting of the Frogs”, and visited the museum of JAI. “You should be proud of your achievements”, said by Mr. Gene Bawden.

After the visit, a friendly meeting was held between the two parties. The representatives of Monash University and Liu Xin, Deputy Chairman and Vice-president, Luo Jianglin, Vice-president, Lin Tinghui, Chairman of School of Design, Wang Peng, Deputy Chairman of School Industrial Design, Gaoyang, a teacher and Miao Luxi, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Center have attended the meeting. In the meeting, the two parties have discussed the programs of co-lab construction, workshops, student exchange, postgraduates recruitment and faculty exchange, etc. “Mr. Zheng Liguo, Chairman, President’s visit to Monash University in February, 2016 has left a deep impression on me. We sincerely hope our visit can herald a new era between the universities”, said by Gene Bawden, “For example, the students of Monash University can study at Jilin Animation University.” The meeting ended with rich fruits.

Finally, Mr. Gene Bawden delivered a wonderful speech on “Communication between Design and the Future”. The faculty and the students got to know the advanced teaching concept and the scientific learning methods. Moreover, they learned a lot from Gene’s explanation on students’ design works.
